Deanna started dancing and performing at the age of two at a local studio in Elmwood Park. She continued her formal training and became a teaching assistant at Forevermore Dance & Theatre Arts in Chicago. Additionally, Deanna studied with master instructors Joel Hall, Kirby Reed, Valentina Barsukova, Julie Nakagawa and professional choreographers Maude Arnold, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Tyne Shillingford, and Joshua Blake Carter. She danced in numerous recitals, competitions, community events and professional shows including Joffrey’s Nutcracker Ballet, Showboat, and Aida at the Civic Opera House. Deanna is a member of the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) and has taught dance for 12 years. Deanna is also a member of the International Dance Council (CID) UNSECO. She has previously been the co-director of a Chicago dance company for 5 years. Deanna’s choreography has been showcased in Dance Chicago, In aside’s Youth Dance Summit, Six Flags Great America, Brookfield Zoo, Navy Pier and Walt Disney World. Further credits include working with Miss Illinois contestants, judging dance competitions and choreographing for Chicagoland events. More recently Deanna has been running outstanding Cultural Arts Programming for the community of Roselle at the local park district. Deanna is so excited to bring her experience, knowledge, and passion to her students!
